Dear Sam:

I have three of these toys (thanks to Wayne Harris) and have driven them
from the Gulf Coast to here (Robbinsville, NC) with and without loads, about
425 miles, wide open - 55/60 mph indicated on the speedo. On a very hot day,
one of them will go halfway to the H side from middle position up a steep,
long hill, but, will recover on the downside. One I use for hydroseeding:
two tons in the truck bed, pulling a 5-ton hydroseeder = normal temperature.

If it were me, I'd suspect the gauge 1st because your temperature doesn't
keep on going up. You can try your wife's cooking thermometer in the
radiator after a hard run and verify your gauge - carefully - I'm assuming
you know the safe way to open a hot radiator cap.

Best wishes on M-35-ing,
Pete Zimbelman
