RE: [MV] unsafe army trucks

I vaguely remember reading about brakelocks (like Meeco(?) on wreckers) and
how they were used to disable the front wheel brakes during slippery
conditions. This goes way back to the 1930's before anti brakelock systems
were invented.
Anybody have any knowledge about this?
