Many years ago (1950s) it was common (in NE Ark where I lived) to see
commercial trucks that had drive shaft to front tandem axle and between
tires on both front and rear tandems was a large pully and a very large "V"
drive belt on each side between front tandem and rear to power rear tandem.
Did the military ever do anything like this??
