The extra looking plug down there is actually that, extra. It is stored there
as part of deep water fording equipment. The stored plug is removed from its
location and used to plug that hole so that the bellhousing can be presurized.
Don't plug it for normal driving, it acts as a vent and drain for possible
leakage.
