Chris,

Many M-1009s & M-1008s for that matter are given to various city and county
departments for use. When these departments get them they of course paint
them as they wish to match the agencies paint scheme. Our Volunteer Fire
Department has one, Blacksburg's Fire Department has two, the City of
Blacksburg code enforcement has one, (waiting to be painted).

They are still M-1009s or M-1008s and are fair game for a collector. I'm
sure whoever gets such a vehicle will paint it back as it was after they buy
it.

Best Regards,

Ed
