If you notice all U.S. military aircraft have the backward flags on
their right side. Think of it like the flag is flying on a flag pole and
not on a flat surface. The stars are always leading into the wind.

had a look, they dont carry a flag in reversal on any of their ranges

Nope, the stars are supposed to be on the leading end of any vehicle or
uniform.
