Potting compound alternative

At the risk of being called a shadetree-potter, spray foam insulation works for some things like that. Also, TAP Plastics Co. sells someting called X-30 foam which is a two part mix that foams up to 30 times the volume of the liquid components. Probably $30 or so for a pair of quart cans, and they will make, er, <math time> 15 gallons of closed cell foam. Nothing will soak through it, although gasoline may disolve it. Not sure
