I'm confused. Is eBay item 7955790758 the same switch? If so it appears that
it is used on civilian trucks without STE-ICE too!
If it's not the switch referred to here, what switch is it and where does it
go on a CUCV?

Well, too late for me since I replaced it 4 years ago. If anyone tests your
idea, I hope they tell us how it turns out. I don't remember there being a
hole under the switch where fuel can leak out. Do you? I have an extra
filter base I need to find and check out.

Hey,

Well first of, thank you Stu for getting that information from your friend.
My reasoning is that if its only used for the STE-ICE diagnostics plug under
the dash, then it serves no other systems on the truck. Hell, I was so
pissed at mine I unplugged it, and the truck started like it normally would
when warm, no problems. If you unplug it the only thing thats going to go
wrong is that if you ever plug STE-ICE in, its going to say you have a bad
transfer pump. My understanding is that when the switch fails, it has
nothing to do with electrical, and the switch not opening or closing
electrical contacts, it has to do with the stupid POS cracking from here to
(Insert faw away place here) and back. I would see no problems plugging it
with a nice slightly oversized rubber plug. It might deteriorate over time,
but who knows. Thats my take on it.

Caleb
