Here is the run down on Permatex products that might
be helpful:
Carbs...PERMATEX HIGH TACK GASKET SEALANT Temperature
range -65F to 500F. Resists gasoline,oil,
antifreeze,and axle lube.Good for valve
covers,carburetor,fuel pump,and manifold gaskets.
PERMATEX ULTRA COPPER Hi-Temp RTV Silicone Gasket
Maker - Temperature range -75°F to 700°F intermittent;
Good for Exhaust manifolds/headers, valve covers, oil
pans, timing covers, water pumps, thermostat housings.
PERMATEX ULTRA BLACK Gasket Maker - Temperature range
-75°F to 625°F intermittent; Good for valve covers,
oil pans, intake manifold end seals, timing covers,
transmission pans.
They also make a great sealant for plastic tanks and
gas tanks.
