You are looking at secondary issues, not the root cause. Simply put, neither the
surface area nor the resources of this planet are limitless.

Everybody will, sooner or later, want a lavish lifestyle such as we have in much
of this country. No matter how many new oil wells are drilled, if the number of
people keeps growing and vehicles continue towards the Escalades and Expedition,
the oil will run out. The tiny number of MVs will just have to put up with
higher fuel costs or be parked.

The government is doing exactly the wrong thing in giving tax breaks for these
big pig vehicles. They should have a progressively larger tax for new gas
guzzlers to reduce consumption.

In addition, population control programs worldwide should be aggressively
supported, but not imposed. Only by reducing the world population in a planned
way will the pressures for war or other unplanned population reductions be
reduced. Politicians can only make believe that Darwin does not exist for a
limited time. Pushed too far, nature will take over and billions will die.
