YEP !, your right ! The Volvo overdrive unit was made by Laycock ,De
Nornamville ! This type of box was used on many British cars of the 60s -
70s . Hillmans, MG`s Etc . If a vacuum switch was piped to the inlet
manifold ,and wired to the solenoid then it would behave like a kick down ,
Fun in traffic !
