Another small example that everyone might recognize - warning lights.
In New Jersey, blue lights are used by volunteer firefighters. EMS
previously used green lights, but have also switched to blue lights. Law
enforcement, and emergency vehicles have red lights. At least that was
what it was supposed to be. Now, local town PDs, fire companies, and
even ambulance squads are being equipped with blue and red light bars.

The permit issued to volunteers allows for a single, revolving blue
light to be placed on the roof, close to the front windshield pillar,
when responding to an emergency. These lights are not even supposed to
be permanently mounted, because technically, they are not supposed to be
visible when the vehicle is NOT responding to a call. So many volunteers
now have blue strobes, both on the top in the form of light bars, as
well as dash lights, that it is usually ignored by the local PD.

So, what do you think would happen if you took your blue light bar
equipped Ford Crown Victoria, and drove up to Master Two Shits, or some
other state that uses blue lights for the PD?
