They are used to mark the rocks so the NCO'S can walk on water.

Hey I have a question on those damn bridge plates. How
many plates does it take to make a bridge??? I bought
a couple cases of em and still can't see how they fit
together to make up a bridge, let alone float. I did
figure out those lil nulmber plates are to be used as
markers to show how deep the water is across the
bridge, that was the easy part. Can anyone shed some
light on this for the rest of us???
