Hawk loaders

Those sounds like the "HAWK" missile carriers loaders. I was with a Air
Defense unit(ADA) in Germany (40+ years) and they are used to load/reload
the launchers. Unless it is a demil part there is a hydraulic arm that comes
up and over the front to load the missiles, usually three at the time. We
had two types of launchers, one was trailer mounted and one was a tracked
vehicle but I don't remember the "M" number. The loaders are great fun to
play with in the snow.
BTY Once a year or so each unit went to Greece for a "Live Fire" exercise, a
lot of our time was spent during the year working on the two missiles that
went but I don't remember any of them ever hiting the target. Wayne
