Its more Mondays that museums close...... banks all close Mondays.....August
is the tourist seson so most museums are open

As well as the beaches and all the inherrant museums and memorials go
inland to St martin des Bessaces, near Villiers Bocage - superb museum
about a descisive battle

Mont Ormel at the top of corridor of death (Falaise gap) - Chambois - a
must see museum..... the guides take you round personally and are very
knowledgeable and speak English
Falaise museum is pretty good within the city walls - losts of vehicles

Vimoutiers - the last tiger in Normandy

Bayeux musuem

Hill 112 open all year round just south of Caen www.hill112.com

St Aubin du bois "Retro day, 21st august - stunning day of vintage
vehicles and farming - WW1 Liberty trucks, lots of unusual stuff, ancient
tractors that are all in daily use and about 10,000 vistors its one of the
best days out.

Hope this helps

Subject: [MV] Sunday in Normandy

I'll be in France for business in August and happen to have a Sunday to
spend playing tourist near Normandy.
What are the "must-see" military history / vehicle sites in the area?
So much of the continent closes on Sunday.
