Hi Guys,

Like any rope manufacturer Samson are required to provide test certification
with their products. Their range of product is enormous as you will see if
you work through their very extensive catalogues covering many different
applications.

So for what it is worth to you all, Amsteel Blue has the following elastic
elongation when used in 12 strand braid form.

10% at 46% of average breaking load
20% at 70%
30% at 96%

These figures are given when the rope is subjected to 50 load cycles at each
% increase in load.

When rigged for 8 falls on a 4 sheave block the minimum strength using 1"
dia braid amounts to a hook load of 356 tonnes. If you guys took the trouble
to go to the catalogue PDFs you would find all the technical information you
are looking for.

Best regards from David Gudmunsen
