Help on the way!

This morning I had to drive to Dallas on business ( I live 20 miles south
of Fort Worth ) and spotted a small convoy of " non-tactical " vehicles,
read vans and pickups with gov't plates, headed east on I-20. Most
likely headed for N.O.. Occupants in BDU's. Vans filled with luggage. One
pickup had generator, and undetermined other gear stacked in the bed. I
rolled the window down and gave "em a thumbs up. They in turn all waved
back and smilled.
I suspect there are other groups like this headed to the disaster sites
from many other places around the country. Not every response team is
going to be in big MV's.
As a side note: I caught a brief news clip last night that was
heart-warming _ A private party from North Texas is taking a DUKW, at his
own expense, to N.O. to assist in the rescue effort. The DUKW is painted
PURPLE!!! Far out!!!
