Be careful about adding drinking alcohol to your gas. 100 proof is 50% alcohol /
50% water. It could make matters worse.

The old gas may work fine in a hot engine, but not start well. Also, filter it
through several layers of clean cotton cloth to remove anything that might have
settled out over the years.
