Hi Glenn and all,
Seems like you know a thing or two about the transfer cases.
I was looking at the New Venture Gear web site.
It would appear that the 241c and the 242 are close in specs.
242HD AMG 2340lb-ft Max Capacity Torque 241c(HD) 5555 lb-ft MCT
242HD AMG 90lbs weight 241c(HD) 100 lbs weight
242HD AMG 11500 LBs GVW 241c(HD) 11000LBs GVW
242HD AMG 2.72-1 ratio 241c (HD) 2.72-1 ratio 218 2.61-1 ratio

What I do not get is the 242 is listed as a "Full time plus part time" and the 241 is listed as a "Part time" transfer case. What is the difference?
Assuming I could get linkage and drive shafts to line up, I would think the part time TC would same some fuel.
Thoughts?

Hi
The Humvee does not use the NP 241c. It uses either the NP 218 or the
NVG 242AMG. The 242AMG is the later HD model. There is a lot involved in
the change but it is done by the Army shops all the time.

Has anyone ever replaced a NP 218 with a NP 241c in a HMMWV?
Anyone know if the NP 241c is the HD model?
