Hate to see accidents like this, and although not
military, it was a classic plane .. what a shame
meanwhile, non-MV- sorry but...
From that same website,-- Big Brother? Question: how
much "security" is too much? Where does it stop?

Britain to record all vehicle movement
LONDON, Dec. 22 (UPI) --

Beginning next year, every vehicle traveling on
British roads will be recorded around the clock by
cameras with the information stored for law
enforcement use.

The network will incorporate thousands of existing
video cameras that are being converted to read license
plates automatically on all highways and main roads,
as well as towns, cities, ports and gas stations.

By next March, a central database installed alongside
the Police National Computer in north London, will
store the details of 35 million license plate "reads"
per day along with the time, date and precise
location, The Independent reported Thursday.

More than 50 local authorities have signed agreements
to allow the police to convert thousands of existing
traffic cameras so they can read license plates
automatically.

In addition to cross-checking each license against
stolen and suspect vehicles held on the Police
National Computer, the national data center will check
whether each vehicle is licensed, insured and has a
valid safety certificate.
