DoD installations ban cell phones while driving

If you use your cell phone while driving on a Defense Department
installation, you could wind up with a ticket.
Starting Feb. 1, anyone operating a vehicle on a Defense Department
installation -- or even driving a government-owned vehicle -- won't be able
to use cell phones unless the vehicle is parked or the driver is using a
hands-free device.

A Defense Department spokeswoman says the federal regulation is
following a model set by several localities across the country.
