RE: Anyone hear the outcome of the mvpa elections?

The rumor is, and I stress, only a RUMOR that I've heard and that I believe,
is that the new slate including Sven Johnson was elected by a landslide.
Sooner or later they have got to let us know officially. Would be a good
chance to eat crow after all the self-promotion I've seen in the magazine
lately from the president and editor. We will see how they handle it,
gracefully or not.

Hopefully, the re-constituted Board can make some real changes in that
organization, that is loaded with money, lots of it, and does little for the
hobby or for our country and the military.

Speaking for myself, I have been very disappointed with the MVPA. It seems
like they are running a business, and not a hobby. When I think of the
MVPA, I think of the magazine, which they get advertising fees for, the
annual event, and little triangular patches and tee shirts. They do little
to support their affiliated clubs, compared to what they could do if they
had that as a focus. It is the local clubs where I see the real good work
being done, which is probably why the local clubs don't have a million
dollars in the bank.

But the MVPA can do better, and I hope the new guys can make a difference.

- Just one MVPA member's opinion.

I never heard anything at all. Seems it's been long enough to count
'em. Jim
