It is really true, the Canadians only have loose control over their
northern territories. I have a friend whose family has a cabin on a
lake near (within 200 miles) Yellowknife - they have to fly into it in
the summer. There is virtually no law enforcement there. The natives
motto - if you see it and like it - wait until winter to steal it. Once
winter arrives, it's a free for all who don't live there year around.

I wonder how many people simply disappear up there.
