Stu, for the 4x4 light, check the switch on the transfer case, as well as
the wiring leading up to it. I think the wire passes through the floor
boards by the shifter.

Being converted to 12v, I am not sure what to say about your Gen#2 light.
Do you still have both gen's?

Mine does not work. Bulb is good. Any idea what to check first? Also,
gen#2 light does not lite when starting truck. CUCV converted to 12v with 2
batteries. Is this OK? How would you tell if you lost one generator?
Gauge in dash is now 12v.
