Weird bounce? How do you replace a Mutt seeting wheel?

I sent the email below several days ago and it timed out and was returned. So I'm sending it again.

Gents,
I purchased a NOS A2 steering wheel for my Mutt from Saturn Surplus (they
did they're usual flawless job) and having never replaced a steering wheel
before, is there any pitfalls I should know about before I break something?
