Rob,
You may already know this but just in case you don't:

I believe that the band adjustments in the Ferret transmission go in
the opposite direction to what seems to be the right direction
and you need to know the actual number of turns to back off the bands etc.,
there is only one correct way to do this, playing with the linkages will
only make things worse .

I had big problems with slippage in each gear in mine when I first
got it as the previous owner did not have a Drivers manual and had
been using the gear change pedal as a clutch. He had come very close
to ruining the transmission.

There is a workshop manual for the Ferret driveline but I have not
been able to locate one. Does anybody know where I can either buy
one or borrow one and photocopy it?

Without the instructions from the Workshop manual I very much doubt you
would have any success in adjusting the transmission.(I had to ring
an ex-mechanic on STD and pick his memory whilst jumping in and out of
my vehicle!)
