The U404 is available on the truck market, both in the US and Europe. Also
Australia, but not economic to bring to US from there.

Over the last year or so I have seen ads for U404S in all sorts of body styles,
most in drivable condition. Prices start around US$6000 and go up depending on
condition, equipment (one had a backhoe) etc.

Best place to look is magazine Military Vehicles. Second best is Supply Line
of MVPA. Also they pop up here and there in the regular truck For Sale
classifieds in newspapers. There are several dealers who advertise regularly
(eg, Michael something from NY). If you have Web access on Internet, there
are a number of mog sites which sometimes list for sale, eg:
http://www.crl.com/~cs/unimog.html. Also try Recycler on Web and search
engines.

Good luck.

I have just joined the mil-veh mail list and am interested in the Unimog
406. I have seen these in current use as rocket launchers/carriers at the
Navy training station in Orlando Fl., and am interested in finding one for
restoration. Preferably not running but complete vehicle. Can anyone out
there help?

Thanks
