The vacuum line runs down the left (driver's) side of the windscreen and
under the bonnet to the manifold. It is held in place with small clips.
Pages 271 and 272 of All American Wonder have the original Trico fitting
instructions reproduced.
I bought a set of vacuum wipers for my GPW with the intention of replacing
the electric ones. I talked to one of the blokes in our WW2 jeep club
who used to work on jeeps during the war (and still does work for people
now) about the vacuum wipers I'd just forked out good money for. His
response suprised me - I thought he'd be happy that I was going to have
them the way they were. He told me in no uncertain terms to "Chuck them
to the shithouse" and that they were the very worst things ever invented.
Mine are still sitting in the box.

ps. I have some new WW2 jeep photos up on my web page if anyone's interested.
