I can attest to the great of former US Forestry vehicles. I was able to
aquire a former Forestry M38. It is absolutely complete with all military
hardware. It was actively used until the mid-eighties when it broke a
valve and was turned in. I suppose all the M38s must have been used
up since it was never stripped of any parts. Overall the condition is
excellent and everything is really tight. I am rebuilding the engine and
hoping to have it running and painted by spring. According to the
odometer, it only has 37,000 miles, of course this could be way off if the
speedometer was ever changed, however, as tight as the jeep is, I
figure it must be pretty accurate.
