There was a article in Army Motors a year or so ago (I would
have to dig out the issue.) that showed a guy who had a
single digit GPW model (I think it was 4.) It is going to be
hard to get any earlier than that! If you are looking for a
script owner, I have 11509 (DOD 4-11-42). Pretty rough
shape though and not as early as the ones you list.
Any of the script Jeeps are rare. Finding one with a nice
original body that is in good shape is hard to do. You can
find script Jeeps, but they usually are in pretty rough shape
over here. I wouldn't think the Ford scripts are the rarest
Jeeps. The rarest probably are the prototypes because of
there limited production and historical significance. If the first
Bantam prototype surfaced, I'm sure that would be a
sensation! Any of the 2 Quads or Pygmy #2 (The Budd-built
body Pygmy #1 survives in Alabama. The Ford-built
Pygmy #2 is missing.) would be rare. There is only
one Bantam MKII that exists and if another surfaced I'm sure
it would command a high price. The MA is another model
that would be rare. (Less than 20 known to exist.) The
BRC-40 and GP I would think would be rarer than the Ford
GPW script.
