Allow me to clarify my problem. I'm not talking about the round seals
that seal the knuckle to the axle housing. What I refer to is the bottom
bearing cap which houses a small tapered roller bearing, often called a
"kingpin bearing." This bearing, along with its counterpart on top of the
knuckle, is held by a cap and four bolts. There is no provision for a
gasket here that I know of, since adjustment of the kingpin bearing is
achieved with shims placed between this cap and the knuckle. As I said
before, I've tried gasket sealer, but gear oil is still finding a way out.
