Reo 331 engine

The M35 that I just reciently purchased hasn't been run in at least
10 years. I haven't recieved my service manual yet and I am wondering if
the oil pump is driven by the distributer shaft or somewhere else. If it
is driven by the distributer shaft I can get some oil pumping through the
passages before trying to turn the engine over and save some wear on dry
bearings. If not what is the recommended method to get fresh oil to dry
bearings with the least amount of wear without a complete teardown?
Thanks for the help.
