Not entirely true either Jim. There were some occasions when the GPW serial #
was stamped into the top of the left frame rail in front of the grill. It was
not common but it did happen. Checking the rivet holes that usually hold the
MB frame tag can reveal if you have an MB frame that has been de-tagged.
There should be some evidence of the rivets having been there.
