M-151 safety

I have been following the M-151 safety issue.
It seems to me that any mishandled offroad vehicle can flip over when
abused.While I do not own a M-151 I do own a 1978 CJ-5 JEEP that has a
304 V-8 motor.I know you must treat it with respect and never have had
any trouble with it.I have had two friends that have owned a CJ JEEP with
V-8 engines and both have rolled them over on the highway.
I think it is a shame that the goverment sees fit to condem the M-151 as
not fit for the road when American Motors has put out a product that is
just as "unsafe" if not more so.Don't get me wrong I love my JEEP but it
does have way to much power for a slippery road with a lead foot behind
the wheel.
I am sure that "BIG BROTHER" had some other motive in mind besides just
the "unsafe" handling reason to stop surplus sales of M-151.Any one have
any thoughts to what the real reason might be???
Thanks for letting me add my "two cents" worth.
One final thought.GOVERMENT AND COMMON SENSE ARE ALMOST ALWAYS TWO VERY
DIFFERENT THINGS!! JERRY
