I didn't see this post, so I thought I would send it again. Sorry if it
is duplicate.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Since I am in fundraising as a living, someone has contacted me
about helping a local group start a WWII reenactment unit. I believe that
several of the members are looking for an organization to help them fund
the restoration of their military vehicles. I believe that all of them
were made by Ford, so of course, they are convinced that Ford would be
willing to pay for them.

>From my experience in fundraising, I know that the first thing to do is
research the prospective organization to determine why they would be
interested in funding such a project. They would have to identify the
contact and develop a detailed proposal that outlines what they as
members are willing to invest and specifically what they would be asking
Ford to do. I know that most companies are more inclined to support a
group that is also investing their own resources into the project. They
also like detailed plans on what you intend to do with the money and on
going reports on the progress of the project.

The group is currently applying for "Not-For-Profit" status and I can
help advise them on the regulations. What I don't know is if Ford or any
other organization has a track record of funding such projects. My first
suggestion to them will be to contact and join the Military Preservation
Society. I really need advice from list members who have ANY experience
with this type of fundraising or know of any sources or contacts that I
can pass on to this group.

Again, any advice would be greatly appreciated.
