What is the purpose of getting a jeep in where not other vehicle could
go. With a few exceptions; scouts, special ops, etc, HMMWV work with
other much larger vehicles so it isn't worth keeping both, plus the jeep
was a gas engined machine. The military, Army and USMC especially were
concerned with utilizing a single fuel fleet. That includes aircraft as
well as wheels and tracks. With the exception of some smaller
generators, they've achieved that goal with the phase-out of the M151s.
