I agree that the US National Insignia Star looks better with the aerial
recognition circle around it but it really has no place on a WLA. Even with
the circle around it the star emblem on a WLA is so small it would be
invisible from any great distance. Especially from the air. I have numerous
photos of WLA's and other vehicles but have never seen a recogniton circle on
a Harley. By the way the breaks were only there because of the stencil.
Sometimes the breaks were painted over and some circles were painted by hand
and did not have the breaks. The breaks were neither called for nor forbidden
by the regulations. On a jeep or Jimmy the circle is fine and looks cool but
wouldn't have been seen often on a Harley.
