Ben,

I used a Midland Vacuum Booster, pn RV46201X, in my Chevy powered M37.
The unit costs $140 plus a $50 core charge from NAPA. Mine fit under the
passenger seat, but I run a single 12 volt battery w/o a battery box, so I
can't guarantee the booster will fit there if you're running dual batteries.
The unit is 10.5" diameter, about a foot long, and weighs 16 lbs. I had
"good" unboosted brakes like yours previously-- the Midland unit made a
considerable improvement. Now if I could just find a dual reservoir master
cylinder, I'd feel really safe.
