To MV enthusiasts,
There were a number of messages on the mail list relating to a database
that would contain individual military vehicles collectors and military
vehicle collector clubs.
In response to this, I have conversed with Gerry Davison and here is the
result:
I have arranged for a dedicated e-mail box for any correspondence in
regards to this database, and software to handle all the requirements of
the database.
Some suggested purposes of the database would be:
- to identify where each individual collector is located, and how to get
in touch with them
- suggest a club for those new to the hobby based on geographical
location
- provide access for private persons registered on the database to
access a list of people with a vehicle of interest and/or getting help
with a vehicle related problem
- locate those with manuals
- provide information on vendors (location, products)

The database would be set up as follows:

[CLUB], all information on location, [START DATE], [NUMBER MEMBERS],
[NEWSLETTER NAME]

[PRIVATE], all information on location, [ACCESS],[VEHICLE NUMBER],
[VEHICLE MAKE], [MODEL], [YEAR], [PLATE NUMBER], [WILL SELL], [MANUAL]

[VENDOR], all information on location, [CATALOG], [SPECIALTY]

The ACCESS field indicates that vehicle and owner data may be provided
to military vehicle clubs or spares vendors. It is a YES/NO field.
An individual can register as many vehicles as they wish.
WILL SELL is a YES/NO field, but prospective buyers will have to contact
the seller directly.
PLATE NUMBER is a license number, those not licensed will have no
number.

If there is interest in this endeavour, let me know at:
