Thanks to everyone for the answers, but I think that I must have failed
to accurately describe the problem.

It is not an output shaft I was trying to describe. It is a gearshaft
that extend through the case and the middle gear (I don't remember the
actual nomenclature). It does not turn. It cannot move due to a flat
plate which fits into a slot cut across the shaft about 1/2 inch from
the end. The plate is in turn held in place by a single bolt on the
outside, screwed through the plate, into the case. If you were looking
at the rear of the case, you would see the cover where the PTO would go
(if installed) or a simple flat cover with about six bolts around it.
Under this is where the mainshaft of the transmission enters the
transfer. On the extreme right is the output shaft to the rear end. If
you look between these to items, you will find a shaft, approximately
3/4 inch in diameter extending out of the case held in place with the
aforementioned plate and bolt. Again, I can find no provisions for any
type of seal and the my manuals do not show any seals for it.

It is not a matter of a wear groove since the shaft does not turn in the
case. The shaft is a snug fit, but does not seal as evidenced by the
continued seepage.

I hope this has clarified my problem. I have replaced EVERY seal in the
engine, transmission and transfer and checked the surface of each
shaft/face to see if there are wear grooves. I am really frustrated that
I cannot fix this leak.

Thanks again everyone.

By the way, the F in the transfer case is beside the shaft in question.
