You are correct, as I've had this problem. (Please see "correspondence"
section of latest issue of MV magazine.)
A 24-12v converter costs about $350. I,ve not been able to find a big enough
resistor to use in its place, and this seems to be a waste of energy.
Currenty, I am using a marine battery to run my accessories.
