I started to dissassemble my MB.
The body is a very bad shape.
The farmer from who i bought cut doors into the sides. I bought (L &R ) front side
and (L&R) back sides.
1. What is the best way to remove the old sides.
If I cut them out , how will I be able to weld the new ones.
The inner back fenders are in a good shape

2. The bottom of the body is a mess. Everything is allmost rusted away.
Thus there exists plans how the crossmembers at rear are running.
What a) kind of steel,
b) tickness of steel
c) wood
is necessary for the crossmembers and for the back and front bottom plates.

3. The upper cover of the transfer case is broken we cleaned the rest before opening the rest of
the cover. There is some sand in the transfer case.
What is the best way to clean the transfer case?

4. The engine needs to rebuild we open the upper cover and bottom cover.
But we were unable to open the front cover due to the fact the starting crank nut assembly.
In the manuals there is nothing marked about how to remove the nut?

5. Before starting to dissamable the engine is it opportune to steam the inside of the engine
or is the a better way of cleaning the inside engine are there additional products neccessary
to add to the steaming.
What are the products (brands) to remove oil or grease on an engine.
Can this process been used to clean inside of the gearbox.

6. Rebuilding an engine. I've never worked on engines before should it be better to let
the engine rebuild in a workshop or what is your experience by doiing it your self.
What are eventually the usual prices for rebuilding an MB engine with NOS parts in a shop.
Can somebody provide me some addresses in Belgium
Or near to the border of Belgium with Luxembourg or France or
Germany.

Advice would be appreciated,

Thanks,

Wouter
