I am marking my 1942 GPW as a vehicle belonging to 42nd Cavalry Recon
Squadron. This was one of the independent Corps level squadrons in the 2nd
Cavalry Group, attached to XII Corps in 3rd Army. My question is: How were
the 1/4 ton trucks assigned to the troops or platoons in a cavalry recon
squadron (so that I can get a correct vehicle bumper number)? I have seen
photos of the M 8 armored cars of this unit but no 1/4 tons. Any information
or ideas?
