Very true, Dave. By contributing to the discussion, I was trying to
encourage "reinventing the wheel" or chopping up for the purpose of
"refining." This latest thread started with a question by a fellow who had
an M37 without the original engine wondering whatt he could use to make a
woring vehicle. Face it: there aren't many of those old Dodge sixes around
laying loose in junkyards any more. I don't think any of us is after a
hot-rod, or we'd be on the 'vette list. Your points are all valid, and I
agree completely. But I don't believe the intent of this thread (the
original one, at least) was to hack MVs into hot-rods. Personally, I'd
prefer them to be as original as possible. But stone-stock isn't always
possible (God, don't you wish we could go to Auto Zone and order new Milspec
parts?!?).
