I was hoping some folks on this list who have experience in the aquatic
vehicle department could help me out.
I may have found a gold mine (or a lead trap). A tour company is selling off
a few of its DUKW's. They claim that it meets full Coast Guard specs, etc.
The USCG is sending me a packet on that part.
My question is: What do I need to do to bring it back to its original
configuration? Not Factory, but Field. Right now, it has bench seating in
the cargo well, railings all around, missing rear winch replaced with metal
ladder, goofy running lights, 350 Chevy engine (this I may leave in place
because it works), etc.
I'd like to return it as much as possible to what it probably looked like in
I'm talking with the bank now to find out how they'll loan me for this
"recreational vehicle" (their term, not mine).
Any help is greatly appreciated.
1943 WC-51 (in restoration)
1844 DUKW (hopefully in acquisition)
