[MV] M20

An aquaintance of mine has a M20 12 ton Diamond T prime mover with an
M 15 trailer attached. A previous owner has mounted a Northwest crane
(tracks removed) on the trailer for use in his heavy rigging business.
The rig was last used about 1980. The current owner has sold the
engine out of the crane otherwise it is complete. He wants to sell the
rest of the rig as a whole or in part. Judging from the TM 9-2800-1
manual the trailer is basically complete military tires and all except
maybe some missing boxes on top of the gooseneck. The M20 is rusty but
restorable. It has some alterations which are major but not
insurmountable. The original Hercules engine has been swapped out to a
Hall Scott engine. I don't know what size except big. The front bumper
and frame have been extended forward about 18" and an auxillary
radaitor and crankshaft driven fan mounted in front of the original
radaitor and regular engine fan. The man wants scrap iron price. If he
doesn't sell it he is going to cut it up for scrap. I'm sure he would
sell parts if the buyer would remove them. He doesn't want to cut it
up but doesn't know what else to do with it. This is located about two
miles north of Bowling Green, KY on US Hwy 31W just one mile north of
the I-65 interchange. He also has another rig similar to the M2 truck
mounted crane in TM9-2800 except he says it is newer (1960-61) than
that and doesn't think it is military. He has lots of stories about
the pieces as he worked for the original owner for twenty years as
crane operator. I know this is a lengthy message but I maybe someone
just may be interested. If interested send me an email
