According to my reading of the Dodge production figures your WC53 is a
late 42 or early 43. I suspect that all the 8152 chassis numbers were
42, and all the 8160 chassis numbers (on the ORD rather than QM
contract number) were built is 43 to finish off the available parts.
Some of the late ones were built without spare wheel carriers to make
access easier and all were (allegedly) issued without trailer socket,
though mine (81543909) got both the socket and I fitted an original
late wiring loom with the wires for it. Statistically there is not
much chance of yours being one of the Defence Aid (DAW contract) ones.
Numbers are 6773 for 42 and 1627 for 43 giving 8400 total (but not too
accurate)

Has it a two or three terminal block on the left front chassis leg?
The early headlight wiring was w/o blackout light and had symettrical
headlight grilles, later ones had three wire blocks (one extra for the
b/o light) and the extended grille on the drivers side. Just to be
difficult mine had the two wire block, and an extra three wire dangling
loose plus late wing and grille with the b/o light. I suppose there is
no sign of the census number on the hood or tailgate? Or a body number
on the passengers door hinge pillar? Any other questions? Gordon
