For older mil-veh use I prefer sandblasting . Even with all the
associated mess (the Carryall is still leaking sand now) it got me from
a rough vehicle with multiple coats of paint to something that just
needed assembled and detailed for #800 ($1200 US) I saved hundreds of
hours of cleaning. Dont do any stripping operations without an
immediate primer application. though, or it is just money wasted.
Epoxy coating works under the bonnet (sorry - hood) of cars but doesnt
look right on an MV. Also worth noting that money spent on epoxy or
chrome work can be wasted by poor preparation, do find someone you can
take it back to if it goes wrong (Yes I said chrome - the VC3 will have
chrome grille trim and wheel rims as it is 1940 and was used only in
the US.) Gordon Falkirk, Scotland.
