I finally looked up the MSDS Sheet on the Binzel Dek Low Foam Diesel Engine
Degreaser. It is listed as a "alkaline detergent" also listed as Caustic
Soda Beads. Hazardous Components are Sodium hydroxide 2 ppm which is 50% OSHA
Max. also Disodium Trioxosilicate 2 mg/m3 which is 12% OSHA Max.

For those who are not US, MSDS is Material Safety Data Sheet which is
required for all chemical compounds which your employees may come into
contact with at your place of business. I am a heavy industrial electrical
contractor by trade (hence the dorky email name), and OSHA (Occupational
Safety and Health Admin.) can, and will come in at any time and inspect your
"Hazzard Communication" program, where you have to have available for your
employees all of this information. In the strictest consideration of the
OSHA laws, they even consider "White-out" typewritter correction fluid, and
WD-40 as hazzardous chemicals. One large steel manufacturing company I have
worked for even considers water a hazzardous material, as "in sufficient
quantities, you may become an asphyxiate hazzard" (translation - you can
drown in large bodies of water).

Several people have responded to my comments about the Drano, and indications
are that it works quire well also.

Please be careful with this witches brew. It will not kill small dogs,
unless they fall into it, but you do need to keep children and pets away from
it, and use caution when handling the dry or liquid compounds. I have
accidently splashed in on my arms, and it will cause a burning sensation, but
no long term effects. Good luck and happy dipping and stripping.
