I imagine I can find a new or rebuilt pump rather than rebuild it myself, but
either way, I will overcome.

There is only about six inches of rubber line, and I have replaced it
already.

I have replaced the short flex line, and the rest is metal which I've
visually inspected. I'm pretty confident that the lines are not a problem.
Plus, I connected the intake of the fuel pump to a spare line dipped down
into a gas can on the ground, and it performed the same pitiful way.

The M38 runs good on a gravity gas feed, although it is not conclusive since
it is only idling in the driveway (Even someone as special as me can't drive
around with the hood up and a gas jug dangling in midair).

I guess I could subsitute an electric fuel pump as a temporary driving test.
I've never looked for one, but I suppose the auto parts shops might have a
self-contained12 volt inline pump (do any civilian cars or trucks use that
type?) which I could hookup with either a dropping resistor or a regulator
stage to the 24 volts line. One way or another, I'm going to look around for
a fuel pump.
